More pictures coming soon....
Thank You for all of you who participated in our Holiday Coloring Contest! What fun we had admiring your pictures.
With the Holiday season upon us, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of a few things to help keep your pets safe.
Chocolate- is a popular treat that we all love but they also pose some dangers for your pet. Depending on the dose that is ingested, chocolate can be very dangerous. It is known to cause vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, hyperactivity, increased thrist and urination or increased heart rate. Should your dog consume chocolate please call us, we can help you determine if the dose was large enough to cause concern.
Candy & Gum- that contains a sweetener xylitol can cause a drop in blood sugar. This could result in depression or loss of coordination and seizures.
Your best bet is to keep all candy and chocolate out of reach of your pets.
With the winter season also comes Antifreeze and ice melting products.
Antifreeze- The sweet taste of antifreeze is very tempting to animals, so please make sure that any spills are thoroughly cleaned immediately. Antifreeze is toxic to your pet. Should your pet consume antifreeze, please call us immediately.
Ice Melting Products- While your pet probably will not eat sidwalk salt on purpose, it can become stuck in their paws which they will lick cleans when they come inside. Normal formulas of sidewalk salt are toxic to pet, but non toxic formulas are available at most stores; look for the "Pet Friendly" Version.
